Layout 122 - Black Window

Website Was made for Kstar’s Red-Magnolia Portfolio website

Design August 11, 2006. The flower was from Kstar (the artist’s portfolio) and the rest of the design was highly themed to reflect the similar color theme as Manga-Rain except with a deeper red.

Challenge The navigation was the difficult part. But it turned very beautiful

Process
This layout was really easy actually, well I guess it was after I planned out what it was going to be about :). After that it was pretty darn easy to do heh. Basically, I just used the flower that Kae had given me as the main logo, and had to make a layout for it. Immediately I thought of those gorgeous round windows that I saw in some artwork and manga comics, and I decided to do a contrast of that with black and white. I didn’t want it to look boxed so I added the circle with headers and stuff. Then I was pretty much done. The overlaps were the smaller circles, and this matched really nicely, and gave movement to the layout.

Description
A simple solid colored layout featuring a beautifully vectored flower by my friend, Kae. I really loved how this layout turned out, but truthfully, although I did the layout, the flower is the main center of attention, so all credit goes to her :). After all, it was her site I was doing it for.
