Background
With photography portfolios you usually turn to two colors: white or black. Black brings out the most in a layout so this is what was requested so that the photographs would be highlighted. The integration was to be really simple so that the photographer could easily update the website. They also wanted horizontal scrolling.
Design
May 24, 2009. The design was very simple but the coding was difficult. All of the coding was done with divs including the horizontal scrolling. In order to get the horizontal scroll with image floats I had to use a nowrap on the white-space via css, and then I used an image scrollbar script which I integrated and edited so it would work properly. The layout was originally fluid but with the image scrollbar script it could not remain so, so I made the divs absolutely positioned but upon expansion and minimizing the side navigation would move as well. This way every screen resolution was covered. Hovers with glow were used to highlight the layout so that it would not seem so graphically lacking.
Integration
There was no backend tie-in with this layout since it would be too complicated for the photographer. Instead, I used PHP to pull images directly from a directory and publish. The important
