Layout 148 - The Raven

Theme Dark Poetry and the Raven from Edgar Allen Poe

Design December 20, 2007. The layout was to be all hand drawn and center upon the Flash animation that was to be the centerpiece.

Challenge Integrated FLASH, textpattern, and a fluid layout was difficult to validate and work properly cross browser. I used the satay method to validate it properly, but it had some issues until I changed the wmode. I really had trouble with the animation as well, particularly the bird animation.

Process
This layout utilizes FLASH as well as simple CSS. It was basically a test layout with FLASH and implementation of textpattern CMS into mycurry. All I did was draw in Illustrator the tree, using nice brush strokes and line tools, then imported to FLASH to do the animation. The layout was overall very simple and did not require much process, just an ability to coordinate color.

Description
A free standing tree with MYCURRY title on top. Upon hover, the M turns into a raven, flying over the screen.
